Some good features, mostly disappointing...

Bought this when I already had a WDTV Live Hub because it has a native PLEX client (which is horribly slow compared to iPad or Android streaming from the same server). Other than that, there isn't a lot that makes this more compelling than a WDTV. The Netflix UI is very slow. It creates a new wireless network, which seems completely unnecessary. There is a new HBO To Go app, but not Showtime, Starz, or any of the other services that are supported on iOS. If you want the ultimate content streaming service, you would be better off to get an Apple TV and stream via Air Play from an iPad.
Most of the better-content channels require a cable TV subscription - forget it if you have DirectTV.

Picture Quality and Entertainment Options

This is the best decision I have made in years! The picture quality is amazing and there is endless content most of which is free. I dumped my big cable package and switched to Roku and I could not be happier. With Hulu Plus or Netflix there is no need for high priced cable packages.

love my Roku! still exploring the unit. cancelled my cable in the office. First bought the ChromeCast and took it back! hated it!

Receive this as a Christmas present. Like that I can watch and pay for what I want. A lot of free stuff, usually older movies. Would like to see live streaming of local channel, news ect...

I got my Roku for Christmas and it was quite possibly the best gift I've gotten. For a binge-watcher like me, the Roku is definitely worth it and I use it just about every night. Just make sure when getting the Roku 3 that you have a recent HDTV. We tried out 2 older TVs from around 2008 and neither of them worked even though they had an HDMI port. Also, if you don't subscribe to a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu, I would think twice. While there are some pretty cool channels available, I find that I mostly use it for Netflix. Overall, clear picture, the headphone jack in the remote is a wonderful feature and I absolutely love my Roku!

I have been using my Roku3 for about 5-6 weeks. Easy setup. Replaced my streaming Blu-ray DVD which froze pretty often. My Roku3 plays smooth and continues throughout play. Great choice.
