Brilliant little box

Bought my original roku box last year ...had a small issue & it was replaced no problem ..very promptly ...just bought a Roku 3 box...really like the headphone facility on the remote...great Box ...and service too!

The Roku was easy to set up and operate. I do have a question and comment. It is unclear in the instructions on how to pause a streaming movie or show, and then resume the movie a few minutes later. My comment is that the batteries that were supplied gave out within 30 days. I have been using the earphones most of the time and that may be part of the problem.

Roku is fabulous...have been enjoying it immensely. However I find that my Smart DVD offers me much of what Roku offers. Can someone tell me how Roku's features are better?

Be Warned

I love this device for Netflix and that is about all. It claims to have 1000's of channels of shows, and it does, but majority of the big ones need you to sign into your TV providers account to access any of it. I was fine with that since we have a log in, just not a box in the one room where the Roku would be. They don't have my TV provider listed (AT&T), so I am unable to watch any of these shows!! I know they are missing other big names as well. I think Roku does a poor job at explaining this as I would have wanted to know before I bought it. It honestly may have turned me away from buying. If all you want it for is Netflix, then I would say it is a 5 star product. If you want to use the channels and have a large cable company, I would give it a 1.

I think the ROKU can be more modern when searching for information we should be able to type the information in stead of scan by each letter and pressing okay after every letter. Very time consuming.

Roku changed my TV experience

Roku 3 is great. The apps / channels I use the most are Youtube, NimbleTV and Bloomberg. It completely changed the way I watch TV. And for the better!! The only problem with Roku is that it is terrible in transmitting the content of your computer / smartphone to the TV. There is only one paid app on Roku that tries to do this, called Playon, which is terrible. Chromecast is much better in pairing your device to your TV. This is a critical issue that Roku should solve ASAP.
