We "cut the cord" as they say a month ago. It would not have been possible without the ROKU! The ROKU has so many channels with so many things to see that not one minute has been wasted thinking about our old satellite service. In fact we have more content, and aren't missing much with Hulu & Netflix to fill in any gaps. We DVR'ed our shows anyway. The $$ we are saving by cutting the cord is huge and will continue to grow each passing year. The ROKU fit our budget, and since we have a 9 year old "non-smart" TV the ROKU was just the "SMART" device that made our TV "SMART"! There is no going back to dumb TV for us thanks to the the ROKU!

I gave it 4 stars because even though I have it set to 1080p it frequently falls out of HD while watching movies, and it sometimes take 10 minutes to go into HD.

I love my Roku 3 and plan to buy 2 more for the house. My only gripe...(small one) is sometimes "my channel" grid doesnt load the channel images so I have to select another option and then go back...insignificant but annoying. Regardless I own a Dlink movie player and a Sony media streamer and they both are no comparison to Roku. The idea to be able to add channels including unpublished beta channels is a great bonus.

i would highly recommend this product. even if you were not cutting cable service by downgrading to a lower per month price. but lets face it, with the available content of added channels. look out apple. you can't go wrong. as long as you have a good internet speed. i use this more than my sony blu-ray part streaming device. in short you can't go wrong with any roku model. but i purchased the roku 3 for the speed. my advice add one to your video watching library. will buy another for livingroom hdtv.

Love the cost compared to cable! And there's lots of great movies. But we're still having problems finding how to watch the game shows the mother-in-law loves to watch
