I have two Roku 3 units, content is excellent, nice to get rid of monthly TV bills. Video and audio quality is excellent. Quite disappointed that few or no sub titles or captions are supported

Fantastic Streaming Experience

I bought ROKU 3, after the cable bumped my price by another 10%. I wanted to look for an alternative to the $140 pm I was paying for the cable for my favorite channels (Hindi channels on Dish). I got ROKU on recommendation of s friend, and I have loved it ever since.

1. I can watch programs from the beginning if I see an interesting movie or event. In cable there is no way I could go back.
2. I can watch any program up to 7 days prior.
3. I can watch features (like an interview) from other channels in ROKU.
4. The Netflix app from ROKU allows me to have captions even for English movies. This is not possible when i see Netflix through other streaming devices like Apple TV, or Samsung TV apps. A great plus for me.
5. The support is great. I got a 2 year support which covers the hardware also for around $20.

The picture quality on the ROKU with wireless is great, however at times (very rarely though), the speed get lower due to internet connection thus needing buffering. I am planning to get a wired connection to the internet for ROKU, which is available in ROKU 3 (it is not available in ROKU 2, which I have for another TV in the basement.).
For local TV channels, I have supplemented the ROKU with a leaf antenna, which allows me to watch live local channels.
I wonder if there is local TV streaming in ROKU? If so then it would be a certain replacement for the cable/dis TV soon.

I bought the Roku 1 a month ago and since then I've used it every day. Whether it's movies, tv, music, or even games you can find something you will like because Roku has it. It's Awesome.

Fast, easy, stylish

I love my roku two. It is so fast and the only time it disconnects from the internet is when my router stops working. Even though I need a new wireless router the roku streams Netflix fastly and fluidly. The box is cute, too.

Remote Issues with Roku 3

I bought my Roku 3 about a month ago. I love that it's easy to navigate. However, the remote doesn't respond all the time. I've changed the battery several times and adjusted where the box is located. This can be frustrating.

I got the Roku 3 about 1 year ago. It worked fine at first but it got worse over time now it stops playing at random points and I have to unplug it a lot just to get it to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this primarily for Netflix and all I can say is that it is lightning fast compared to the dvd player I used to run Netflix through. I'm sure in time I will begin to use many of the other services the box offers. You do need a credit card to setup a ROKU account though (not sure if this is mentioned on the box.)
