I bought this a nmonth ago but I got desapointed that did not play movies from my WD External Hard Drive. I was hoping to see my movies from my HD with .srt subtitles but couldn't make it work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy entertainment frontend solution

I've owned 2 other Rokus and was satisfied with those, but the better hardware in the Roku 3 seems to improve on an already solid experience! Even with the continual improvements to the interface and it experience, it remains simple enough that even my aging patents have no trouble finding their way to what they want to watch our listen to!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best PLEX player so far

Perfect streaming player. Replaced my Cinavia-crippled PS3 with this. Finally a silent Netflix, Amazon and Plex media player that's so easy to use, your grandma can watch movies on it :)
