Worth the cost

I bought this product a little over a month ago to help our family cut the cable cord. The Roku has so many different channels available that it makes it easy to use any of them. If you're trying to cut the cord like us and are willing to sign up for a couple subscriptions like hulu or Netflix, this product is the way to go.

Intuitive, cute, easy to use!

After getting frustrated by the ridiculous cost of satellite TV, I started looking into my options for streaming Netflix and HuluPlus to my TV. After much research, I decided on the Roku 3. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up with my plasma TV and how quickly I was watching my shows. Anyone could do this! The Roku box will also allow you to stream other media, such as Pandora, YouTube, and Facebook video posts. You add these to your channels similar to picking out Apps on a smart phone. There are also many other channels for On-demand video & TV, such as Amazon PRIME and Vudu. The only drawbacks that I found with the Roku 3 are as follows: 1) Even though there is a screen-saver for the home screen, the individual channels are not all set up with screen-savers - a problem on my plasma TV, 2) Many channels that are found on regular cable (ie, A&E, Discovery, SyFy) have limited program content and mainly just clips/extras if you don't have a cable subscription, & 3) I don't love the off-set location of the "OK" button on the remote. However, outside of #1, these are minor issues to me and so far, I am in love with my Roku!

Faster than my DVD player for Netflix

I bought this a month ago and am happy with the purchase. Previously I had been using my DVD player to watch netflix on the TV, but since hooking the Roku 3 up, this is our go to player for viewing netflix. I haven't watched any of the other channels, but I am sure they work perfect too. Set up was quick and easy, only ROKU asks for a credit to complete set up just in case you wish to purchase other pay channels. If not for the credit card required during set up, would rate it a 5 star.

The set top media player to buy

This is 3rd set top media player. I have owned the WD tv live, Apple TV and now the Roku. I can easily tell you this is the box to own. More channels, great interface, more features. I did like the Apple TV but it seems as though that product just went stagnant. The Roku is best in the class. It will support more video formats than apple and it has a Plex app that you can use to play media from your pc. The only thing it does not do is airplay but I think the other features out way this. This product is a cable company killer.

Excellent streaming media player

I had bought Roku3 less than a month now, and really impressed with:
- ease of setup. I've a strong IT background, and Roku3 is by far the most easiest tech gadget I have configured so far ..
- master search. Super-fast (given the amount of content and the multiple dimensions it has to aggregate) and very easy search function
- lot of free channels.
- very stable so far. Only issues I have seen so far is buffering issues with Internet radio channels (Live365 and TuneIn).
- motion sensing remote for game play.
After purchasing Roku3, I have been able to downgrade my Cable subscriptions to the bare minimum -- just to get few of the local channels we need.
