Great - except for one thing

The headphone jack with volume control is a useful feature, except for one thing. When you plug in a set of headphones, the sound signal to the TV is cut off completely, so that others cannot hear the TV. It is difficult to understand why engineers chose that option. It would have been better to leave the TV sound under separate control. Or better still, have the volume control set the level for both the headphones and the TV. That way, when watching TV, one control would be all you need. And with headphones, the relative difference between the TV and headphone volume levels could be set using the TV volume control. Perhaps this can be fixed after the fact by a software patch. Roku engineers, over to you....
If it were not for this totally unnecessary deficiency, I would give this unit a five star rating.

I am pleased with my Roku. I mostly watch Netflix on it. I just wish that people wouldn't have to PAY for so many of these channels. Also Sites like A&E, History Channels, etc would have more shows on their channels to watch. The selections on some of these is very limited.

I bought my Roku 3 about 2 months ago and use it at least 3 days a week. It was super easy to set up and I looked forward to checking out the different channels I could put on it. I was disappointed to discover that you needed a cable or TV subscription for many of the channels. Don't fool yourself if you think this machine will replace a cable or TV subscription, because it's very limited access to local channels. I'm still happy with its easy access to Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu which I primarily use.

I bought mine a couple days ago and it seems to impress me well. I am concerned about the warm operating temperature and the longevity of the electronics, and for that I will try to cut the power to it whenever it is not being used. I just wonder how long it will hold up.

This device is everything I had hoped an Apple TV would be, the only thing at all it's lacking is a gigabit ethernet.

I bought it for Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu plus. There are so many apps on this thing I know I will never use them all but it's nice to be able to go through them to see the new stuff. Also I was able to set it up in just a few minutes.
