I was streaming through a blue-ray disc player without success. Didn't know if it was my internet speed, netflix, or the disc player. After seeing all the great reviews on the Roku 3, I thought I'd give a new streaming device a try. Wallah! Fast, fun, perfect, no long buffering. It's like watching tv. Love it!

Best Streaming Device Ever!

Over 1 month now. Easy setup. Streams Netflix without a hic-up. Love the Wi-Fi remote freedom so you don't have to point it at the Roku 3. In-ear headphones work very good. With the Roku Media Player channel you have access to all your videos and pictures on your computer. It takes some looking, but there are some good free channels. Lots of pay per view, which is easier and cheaper than driving somewhere to rent, but I have not needed that yet. If you have some pc knowledge-The Plex Channel is Great and a must have. (you need to download the Plex Media Server on your PC. It is free for 30 days, but it is only 4.99 for a lifetime subscription, which you do thru your roku). It gives you many new channels. Such as recent major network shows, Spike, comedy central shows, etc. I use an antenna for local broadcast, and no more DVR player needed! If you want to go all out you could get Netflix, HuluPlus, and Amazon Prime all for less than 30.00 per mo. Goodbye Cable!

I no longer complain that there is NOTHING to watch on tv. Now I really have options. If there is something I would change it would be to make it easier (for the older folks) to find everything that was available in one central location. Maybe it is and I just can't find it...but that in itself is a problem. I would certainly purchase ROKU again and thT is for certain.

Love the Roku. It's pretty easy to use and has connection to many channels. It's easy to setup, and all you need is Wifi and an hdmi cord. This is my first time switching over from TV to streaming video and I couldn't be happier! Cost = way less, and I can still see many great shows. The one suggestion I would make is that when the Roku idles out it tends to lose the volume, you have to hit the * button to turn the volume back on, this took awhile for me to figure out. I'd suggest changing this somehow. I would also suggest getting some free content on there.

to much buffering

We are disappointed with the movies' interruptions for the first 1/2 hour or so. The 'loading' breaks the experience. Also the 'free' material has so many advertisements the content isn't worth the time.
