If you have Netflix, THIS is what you want to buy!

Live in the country. Minimal internet speed. Went through three wireless routers and two streaming DVD players. Always buffered. Roku? Picked up signal, lets me zip forward/backward in a film, and has buffered only twice in a month. Awesome! Bought a box to house it, off Amazon, that holds it BEHIND the tv. No sweat. I don't even have to aim the remote at the box and it responds! Oh, and it has SUBTITLES for this old, nearly-deaf man!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Roku 3 is seriously making me rethink my cable subscriptions. I pretty sure that I will be able to cut my costs significantly without giving up anything. Love it.

I owned the Roku 2 for just over a year, but was disappointed when I could no longer view YouTube. When I saw that YouTube was now available on Roku 3, I ordered it immediately. The YouTube interface is "way" better than it was before. Not only was I happy to get YouTube, but I have found that the Roku 3 is much faster, and it no longer spends so much time in the "please wait...." mode. If you are considering Roku for the 1st time, I would recommend going directly to the Roku 3 as it is a vast improvement.

I am very happy with my Roku 3 box. After a month, I haven't even started any of my pay channels or free trials. I am still going through the free ones. One feature that didn't excite me, but I now love is the headphone jack on the remote.

roku 3 sound and power issue

the roku 3 does not have a power off and because of this it does not let go of the HMDI signal and the AV amp will not switch to another source until i unplug Roku 3> most annoying and i had to switch back the sound settings back to stereo from 5.1 because apparently Sony does not support the file type the ROKU sends so NO SOUND unless set for only Stereo> i believe the lack of power off and audio issue is a deal breaker, video is OK but if i had known another product may have been a better choice for me
