Best New 'Toy' EVER!!

We got this for Christmas and it has been so awesome! Love to be able to go look up a show (especially all the cool, old tv shows I grew up with) and watch instantly!!! So glad we got this for our family!!

ROKU LT... Fits me

I LOVE my ROKU LT... It fits me. The ROKU LT is just right for my needs; I wanted a streaming-box for an older CRT television that would be simple to hook up and yet would be able to handle HD signals (up to 720 display) for when and if I eventually get a new TV. This ROKU LT fits that need... You can hook it up with the old Red, White and Yellow A/V RCA-type connectors AND yet it does also have an HDMI port for HD TV too. You simply hook it up and plug it in and it will set up in just a few minutes. It connects to your home WiFi through your wireless router and you're good to go. I have Pandora and other channels for FREE on mine as well as a few premium channels. The ROKU lT is the PURPLE Box version of the Great ROKU line up...

Nearly Replaced our Media-dedicated PC

I bought Roku because the processor in our Media-dedicated PC, an old ThinkPad x60, couldn't handle Amazon Prime streaming videos well. Our ChromeCast couldn't do Amazon Prime at all because Amazon Prime runs on flash. The Roku is perfect for it. Now I can watch all the Star Trek and Downton Abbey I want.
Plus, my sister and I have fun playing Angry Birds together on the giant tv. We also use the YouTube and Pandora channels frequently and have enjoyed some of the old tv shows available on one of the other free channels. The Roku is an excellent alternative to a monthly cable subscription.
My only criticism is with respect to the media player channel. Unless you sort your music into playlist folders or want simply to listen to a full album as if it were a cd (assuming your music files are sorted in a standard way), the media player channel is not a sufficient replacement for a PC mp3 player. That said, the ease of accessing files on an external harddrive hooked up via USB is really nice.

I am one of the millions who have finally had enough with the cable and dish companies. Therefore, I researched all the products available to kick these bad companies to the curb, and the Roku product selection seemed logical. I have one Roku-3 and two Roku-2 devices. I do think there is much room for improvement on these devices like the heat the produce and other features to the service would really make Roku outpace the competition. I believe you need more parental controls for channels and content. I would also like to see more features available for those who want to build their own HD DVR's and other multimedia systems. As the partnership with Plex is why I chose Roku. Please I really wish there was an easier way to put in passwords channels and Wifi Networks as it takes me a 1/2 hr to setup a new Roku. I only ask that you keep innovating and pushing the boundary as Roku has the potential to rattle the foundations of the Multimedia industry.

I have thoroughly enjoyed using Roku, especially combined with my Amazon Prime membership. It was so super easy to set up, creates no operational problems, and keeps a low profile with its small footprint.

I've had the Roku for a few months and I love it. I own an Apple TV for about over 2 years and I like it too but I wanted to buy Amazon instant videos because shows episodes are cheaper. It's really difficult for me to pick one over the other. For the price is easy to own both. YouTube on the Roku is better because it keeps playing continuously without having a playlist. The NETFLIX in the Roku also play show episodes continuously and I really like those features.

Bought this about a month ago to replace the FIOS box in the bedroom. Although we can't view everything synchronously, it is great for the 20-30 minutes we watch programming before bed. Would benefit from a tiny keyboard on the back of the remote like some of the newer TVs. Awaiting a few more premium channel apps.
