Good but could be much better

Like the content selection compared to Apple TV. UI, ease-of-use is good. Private channel possibilities seem interesting (although ecosystem still seems under-developed (professional looking drag-and-drop channel creation tool would be preferable to SDK, so that many more (non-software-engineers) can create new channels). Also, a standardized site/system to see reviews on these would be nice (vs fragmented 3rd party websites trying to do it independently). Most of all, I would like to see ability/option to replicate current TV experience (e.g. pick the channels most interesting to you, and have option for "TV mode" where channels seem to be already playing when turn to them - 80% of pay video viewing is still done this way, and not everyone wants to sit around and make a decision on ever clip/segment they watch). One other point - commercial inventory seems limited: do I really have to watch the very same commerical every single time the system enables a commerical for app/clip???

We purchased our Roku player several weeks ago, and have to say it's the best accessory we have ever purchased to enhance our at home movie viewing.

Switched from ATV 2

I have enjoyed the switch from an ATV2 that was jailbroken to use Plex. I now feel less anxious about problems arising or glitches happening that cause problems with my main use. The design side lacks comparatively but I hope Roku will allow developers to rework the design such as Netflix. Capable of so much more than Apple TV and yet still far away from truly cutting the cord from cable services, I still think the Roku 3 beats the competition...for now :).

A lot more Apps then the other guys

At one time I had an Xbox and a than Sony media box, hook up with ethernet and HDMI's in the living room. Now they are in other rooms of the house. But for some reason when I got the Roke 3, it came, and comes in better than other two did. Very good like it a lot.
