Almost Ready to Cut the Cord

Bought the Roku 3 at Costco this weekend because I had a gift certificate. Wow! I'm almost ready to cut the cord from Verizon. Still waiting for HGTV and the Food Network for my wife. As for me, it has ALL I need! I'm going to get 2 Roku 1's for the other TV's in my house!

Keeps falling asleep

It's a cool product. But it keeps falling asleep and I have to take the batteries out of the remote and put them back in to wake it up.

Great Picture/Great Sound

Roku 3 performed very well as advertised. Very easy set-up although entering a credit card should be optional. However the card can be deleted after opening the account and has created no issues. Just ordered a "Roku Stick" through Future Shop. Both Future Shop and Best Buy in Canada will be selling the stick end of Feb. and offering great pre-order discounts.

Error!

I loved it for about two weeks, then I got the dreaded "HDCP Unauthorized. Content disabled." I wish the company had a definitive answer to this problem. There a twenty different supposed fixes on the forum. Frankly I don't have time to try twenty fixes. It a great product with a killer glitch.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If I could get local stations I'd get rid of cable

Roku is easy to set up and easy to use. There is a nice selection of free content including music, education, travel, weather and others. You can subscribe to channels like Netflix, Hulu, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime to watch movies, and favorite TV shows on your time. There may be a way to get my local channels for news, etc. If there is, I just haven't found it yet.

Roku 3 outperforms other streaming units we have in our home. The menus are well done and easy to use. Being able to use headphones with the remote is a real plus.
