Great for Streaming

I bought this about a month ago and loved it so much that I got another for my bedroom! Based on what I was paying for DISH, both units will pay for themselves in a 2 month period. I should have done this a long time ago.

Roku 3 ROCKS, Blows away APPLE TV

I'm a bit of a tech junkie, but no expert. I had previously purchashed 2 Apple TVs to stream my music and videos. While they are fine, I wasn't happy that there weren't many options available such as Amazon Prime and Redbox Instant. The Roku 3 is faster and more reliable. Love the IPAD and IPHONE remote apps. Works like a charm and wish I'd bought one sooner. In addition to all the major apps, there appear to be endless channels from cooking, news, and ahem,, adult entertainment. It's small and we took it on vacation and worked flawlessly. If you don't have one, or were considering an Apple TV I've got one to sell. Well, hope my review knocks the socks off ROKU big wigs because I'd like 2 more for the other rooms.

Best I've Seen or Used...

I’ve tested, tried and used several streaming players of the years and this little Roku 3 is by far the best I’ve ever seen.
Versatile, fast, and content like none other I’ve used. Really well thought out and attractive GUI interface that enables me to search and find all kinds of movies and shows on a variety of outlets. A HUGE bonus is enabling me to stream my UltraViolet Blu Ray DVD’s via Flixster and older DVD’s I own that are ripped on our hard drive through Plex. The kids also love taking YouTube to the big screen on their Roku 2 I bought for their game center console.
Even with high traffic on the local network or broadband network, I’ve yet to see either get clogged up. (An occasional issue on other machines with computers, phones and tablets flying all over this house.) It also doesn’t matter if one is hard wired and the other resides on the wireless network.
Even with optical outputs into my Home Theatre System for surround sound that the Roku does not have – I still found myself watching my Roku. (Although I found a unit that seperates the HDMI video and audio for optical out that I’ve ordered.)
Bottom line is you can’t go wrong with the Roku when it comes to streaming media on the big screen. Hands down – the best and most used component in my entertainment configuration.

Tons of features, easy to use!

We have Apple TV, but I heard about Roku and decided to try it. We love it! It has everything Apple TV has, and much more. It is also much easier to use. The remote is very user friendly and feels good in your hand. The list of available channels is amazing - truely something for everyone. I highly recommend the Roku 3.

I received my Roku 3 for Christmas and have been enjoying it ever since. I wanted it because I can not afford cable and needed an way to watch some of my favorite shows on cable networks. My only complaint is some networks can not be accesses without a cable account.
