I don't know how the Roku streams so well

I think Roku is an ingenius product and very useful and easy to use. My only gripe is that I dont like having to have a credit card to activate it.

Was led to believe there was a lot of free movies. Not. Not much I want to watch and most of them have commercials unless you pay a subscription.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this after reading many reviews about all products like the Roku. I decided on the Roku and I haven't regretted it at all.  It is just a great overall product.

I really wish I had cancelled my cable sooner. Roku was incredibly easy (and dare I say a little fun) to set up. We decided to get the Roku 3 largely for the faster processor. I like the ethernet option as well, makes me feel like the connection will be more reliable but in reality it would probably work just as well on wireless. The USB and microSD slots as well as the headphone jack in the remote are neat extras that we haven't used yet but might at some point.
The picture is great, the best my old rear-projection behemoth can kick out. (YES Roku 3 should work with rear-projection TVs, they're HD too technically speaking.)
The only negative I can think of is that the remote can not control the volume of your TV. There must be some technical reason for this, but I don't know what that could be so I'm just left a little disappointed in that regard. So I have to keep my TV remote on hand, not ideal. There are little volume buttons on the side of the Roku 3 remote but they only control the volume of the headphones when plugged in. :/
But that is a minor inconvenience in the big scheme of things. I love my Roku, and I love how much money it's saving me.

Disappointed.

I bought the Roku 3 thinking I was going to get free premium cable channels such as AMC, Lifetime, USA and A&E, but the only way to get those channels on a Roku is if you already have cable. Also alot of the channels require you to sign up online before you can access them. I barely use my device. I watch stuff for free online at a website. I wasted my money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
