What I hoped for and more

I got this because I have a Sony DVD player that used to work fine, but had gotten to where it would not play Netflix without pausing every few minutes for a few minutes. When I found out that it was a Sony problem, I researched what to do about it, and decided to go with a 'Roku 1. A friend at work who has two Roku 2's convinced me to get a Roku 3. So I can't really say how much happier I am with the 3, then a lesser Roku, but the 3 works great. Solved my Netflix problem. Does all the other streaming things that I expected. One feature I didn't expect was the "send to TV feature". For instance, you can find a tutorial video on YouTube on your laptop, then play it on the Roku on TV.

Great overall way to watch television!

I bought two of these about a month ago and everybody just loves them. Especially my kids.The Roku is easy to install and so far I haven't had any problems with it. It has a nice variety of TV shows as well as movies available. We got rid of cable and I have no regrets.

Easy install and flawless operation

We bought our Roku a month ago and we're very happy with it. Our data connection is a wireless LAN from an ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router. Installation is a breeze, it works great, and the content selection is very good. Roku significantly expands our television entertainment options. Most of our viewing is via the Amazon Cloud service. We also defined several stations for listening with Pandora. Not a single problem. Highly recommended.

Expands home entertainment

Bought this to add more versatility to home entertainment. Spent the extra for the USB stick capabilities before I fully understood what the unit was capable off. With media servers such as Plex the USB port may not be necessary. Some what disappointed with the limited number of formats the Roku media player supports. Requires some video to be converted which doesn't always work out ( no audio sometimes ). Overall it serves my purpose although I can't say if there are other devices out there that would work just as well

Need Sports!

I'm fairly happy. It's a pain to not be able to access live sports channels and have to just watch my Direct TV. Would be nice to partner with college and NFL football.

Excelent Product

I have found this product to be on a league of its own, you will not find another like this currently on the market. Even my kid knows how to use the Roku. One thing I have tao say is that mostly wife's do not approve if you are trying to cut costs and replace the Satalite. But this time around it smiles even on the Wife with the Roku 3.

Great unit, easy to setup.

Got this unit about a month ago. It was really easy to setup and you have to love the radio controlled remote (vs the IR units). The wife made me keep basic cable for the local news stations. It would be really nice to be able to stream the live news but so far I have not seen anything which is acceptable to my wife.
