We received this from our daughter. What a hidden secret of a device. Never heard of it before she got it. We use it a lot now. Saves a lot of money to wtch this way.....

--I was looking for a way to cut the cable bill from my budget. Roku is a great way to start. The set up was simple and was completed in less than thirty minutes. The picture is flawless.
This was my first one and I will be buying more in the near future.

Great Features and Channels!!

I've had my Roku player for about two months now and I absolutely love it!! I bought it on the recommendation of a friend and I love it!! Roku offers great free channels as well as hosts all my online accounts that I love like Hulu Plus, HBOGo , Netflix, Showtime etc.. The player works seamlessly and is easy to use from the standard remote or the emote on the iphone app. I'm so happy to have tis player!!

Good Product - Short Warranty

Easy to set up with Ethernet and HDMI cables. Tons channels for free and works great with Youtube and Netflix. Easier to use than a computer or DVD/Blue Ray combo.
I don't like the 90 day warranty. Given the unit has no moving parts, like a hard drive and the reliability of modern equipment, a year would have been better. 90 day warranty reduced my rating to "good."
Setup took me about 15 to 20 minutes. Also you need a debit or credit card to open needed account and a Google browser. Does not support IE 11.

Not what I hoped for

I bought the roku for two purposes. The first one was to play LIVE365 music that I receive on my computer and have it played through our sound system form the surround TV. Although I receive the LIVE 365 through my computer, the roku simply staters that this channel is not available in our region!? What's that all about?? I receive on my computer no proble!
Secondly I was hoping to be able to replace my daughter haveing to continually bring down her laptop in order to watch specific shows from the web. Regretfully the number of stations is severely limited AND none of the stations supplied or accessed through ROKU show any of the desired programs.
Thus the two options which were the main reason for the purchase do not work up to my expectations

Cut the Cable

we have used Roku and plug in channels (some not sponsored ) for over two years, with the Netflix and Hulu Plus,(standard hulu is god too) .. But make this work for you , get the Play-on channel. we used it for a few weeks , then bought 1 year. and then realized the life time plan was best. $50. gives you hundreds of more channels ..... so for our home $16. a month ..... T, one downside can affect many of you , check your internet provider for data caps.... look into that before you leap. I have saved over $2,000. since my change up....

I broght this a month ago and I am so happy that I did,because this product is much better than I thought, HD is better,streaming is faster than the computer wet search.
