I had been using my Blu-ray player as my streaming device for a couple of years. I finally decided to give Roku a try and am so happy that I did. It is easy to set up and use, it is super fast, and has a very friendly interface.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent for Streaming

This little box is excellent for streaming media. The interface is easy to use, and the ipad/iphone remote control app is handy. I definitely recommend using this with a wi-fi router that supports all the advanced networking features this has to offer. One thing to note, it would be nice if the device could be easily rebooted without having to either remove power and/or google for the super secret setup menu code.

Maybe too Good

I have SAT internet service and we ate up almost entire monthly bandwidth alottment watching HD movies and TV shows in 2 days. Need a way to select only SD to conserve bandwidth and download capacity. Have to watch your useage. Wish they had unlimited data plans.

Still learning to use all the features

I purchased this device because I was tired of watching online content on my laptop screen. I wanted to be able to have the shared experience of watching shows with my husband. It was mostly HBO-Go that I wanted to watch. A pleasant surprise was the Vevo channel which is like the Mtv I grew up with but better. You can select an artist or song and it will continue to play videos. My daughter really enjoys this channel too. I am still trying to figure out how to sync the search for YouTube as it is not as intuitive as the other channels. I have TWC as my cable provider and I can watch live tv with the TWC login. The one complaint I have is that the Roku went to sleep while watching live tv. This may have been avoided if I moved the remote to keep it active. I don't usually watch live tv on the Roku so it is not a big deal.

Happy with my Roku, but now ? the selection

I wanted to watch more movies at home because I am a member of Netflix. Very Disappointed with the net flix selection. I heard they changed the venue of what they offered in the past. I also have Amazon Prime and the same thing. I might swithch to Redbox but hesitant because it is a racket probably.
