From 2 TV channels to hundreds of channels

For the past 50 years I could only watch 2 local TV channels CBS & NBC; I live in a small backwoods area were cable was never offered. I only watched TV one night a week and only 2 programs. Purchasing the Roku 3 has been a life changer; so many channels and programs to watch. Now I watch TV everyday!!! It's just wonderful!!!!

Never thought I would like this product..

When you can plug your PC directly into your TV and stream. However, this little device is really quite great and reasonable for all of its features. Makes you spend more money (Netflix and Hulu Plus) to stream, but also offers a lot of free options and games. It doesn't really turn off, so it is always running really hot. Has some minor issues with freezing up occasionally - but overall I think it is a good investment and a fun product!

Good smartbox

Roku 3 is easy to setup, has variety of apps to select from and has usb slot too. I use Roku to stream my local content almost every day. Only limitation was not able to play avi files and stream from computer browser like many other smart box.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice upgrade from original Roku

I bought this as a Xmas present to myself last year. After using the first Roku for so many years thought it would be nice to upgrade, and Wow it has been an amazing experience and have actually started to watch more because of the quality.

I returned my Roku 3 because of the incompatibility with certain file types, mainly .avi. I dont want to have to use the real cloud player to upload files to view them on the roku, i would have liked if it played them seamlessly with the roku media player.

I've been enjoying the Roku 3, and that's only with the free channels. Love having YouTube. I really wish that I could get regular Hulu (not Hulu Plus) that would be a great thing improvement.
