Not as great as I expected

I am not sure how it compares to other players, but the Roku was not as great as I expected. The player is not the issue as much as how long it takes to actually find something you want to watch. Many of the things worth watching actually cost money and the download speed on some programs is very slow. I am considering subscribing to cable again.

We have owned our Roku 3 for about two months and use it nightly. Between Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and PBS, we have been entertained for hours on end. The Roku 3 is easy to set-up and manage and it does an excellent job streaming HD content. One can navigate it's menus very quickly and it has proven to be very stable. My only gripes are that DirecTV customers can't make use of HBOgo on the Roku3 and that native DLNA streaming could be more robust. Overall, this has been an awesome purchase.

If it worked as it should I wouldn't get three or four messages per day saying, Sorry we're having trouble and can't finish streaming your movie...Please choose another title..

Get rid of Comcast and get a Roku!

We bought the Roku mainly as a way to view Aereo in 1080p. We also have an Apple TV and PS4. Of all of the content on these devices the Roku is the best. We barely plug in the Apple TV anymore, AirPlay is over-rated. We love all of the channels you can add to the Roku to customize the box to yourself. Make sure you have a great internet connection if you wish to stream 1080p though(10up/50down) Get rid of Comcast and get a Roku!

We are so glad we finally decided to buy a Roku! This product is great and easy to setup and use. We originally bought to stream Breaking Bad but have found so many other uses for it.

Setup is easy, everything I've tried to do has worked great.
I've even noticed an improvement in quality with the streaming video. With our TV and Amazon Instant Video, I couldn't always get hi-def videos, sometimes but usually not. Now with the roku 3 I can always get hi-def and surround sound. So, I'm very happy.

I purchased my 1st Roku to use with my AmazonPrime membership in place of the Wii system. WOW! It is so much smaller, faster and easier to use, and the distance from WiFi isn't an issue at all. The programming that is available through the Roku is amazing, and will have you re-thinking your television viewing options. After owning our unit for just over a month, we decided to purchase a second one for use in our travel trailer. Not that we couldn't take the one we had with us, we just like to do the least amount of packing and unpacking as necessary, and at the price we paid it is well worth it! With a couple of subscription channels, this may very well become our television programming source. When you stop and think about it, you can pay for a year subscription to a prime movie channel for the cost of just one month of cable service. I HIGHLY recommend the Roku, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it becomes the television service provider of the future!
