Great way to cut the cable!

Only had Roku for a couple of weeks, so far very satisfied. It gives you total control of your entertainment options. One thing to consider is it requires about 3 mbs internet speed, I only get about 5 mbs and have no problems.The addition of Aereo in the Atlanta market completes the package. Now we only need access to local baseball and college football.

At last I don't have to watch Netflix on my ipad

I was using Netflix on the ipod and liked the opportunity to see stuff but it's so much easier to see it on the TV. My son recommended this. I assumed it would be difficult to implement so he got me one for Christmas. I had to implement it, with his advice, but it was a breeze.The only reason it's not easy to use is the cumbersome search feature, but that's a limitation of the old TV technology really.

The Roku 3 was probably the easiest video type device I've ever set up. Kudos to the Roku team.. I'm on my way to 'cutting the cable'

I bought the Roku 3 in placement of cable and as it turns out the Roku 3 does its job very well. That is until you realize, in the case that you're a male college student, that your PS3 could do all the same. The Roku 3 likes to advertise its 1000 channels but you have to have a membership to some cable provider for at least 750 of those channels, and the other 250 are either some hipster crying at the tv about some psychotic theory he has on society or some independent underfunded channel. While I love to be the hipster and support the little guy, I'd like the see my 100 dollars go towards free HBO or other such channels, for at least at year! I'd like some sort of deal! You want a Roku? Get the 2, that's all you really need.

Roku is not recognized by Showtime. It would also be nice if we could get the major network stations. Other than that, I have loved my Roku. I have binge watched _Game of Thrones_ and now watch _True Detective_ when it fits my schedule.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ROKU 3

We are impressed with the picture and sound quality of the ROKU 3 unit. My wife generally watched free local stations anyway, and Charter Communications raised our bill to $157.00 per month. Now, we installed a digital antenna in our attic for $50.00 and bought the ROKU 3. We watch Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, and several other services and are saving LOTS OF MONEY each month. Best part - when we watch programs on ROKU 3, we don't watch commercial after commercial. There are no commercials! We are getting much better service, we are saving LOTS OF MONEY, and the picture quality and ability to control movies is excellent.
