The Roku 3 Saved My Marriage

It's that simple. Netflix experience with four-year old Blu-ray player = :-( Netflix experience with new Roku 3 = :-)) The setup process is EXTREMELY well designed and couldn't possibly be simpler or easier. No need to know anything about IP addresses, DNS, proxy servers, blah blah blah in order to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. The whole shebang from unpacking to watching videos easily took less than ten minutes. My mother-in-law had similar issues trying to get Netflix to play nice with her Blu-ray player. My wife suggested she get Roku, too. She did. She set it all up herself. She is very happy. I think the United Nations should drop little parachutes with Rokus attached to them around the world to increase the peace.

Big improvement!

I had an older Roku and it was fine but the new Roku 3 is now a real computer TV. I tried an AppleTV and it was difficult to use and was short on buttons. The new Roku can search for movies, actors or directors in Netflix, it can access more sites, like YouTube, it has a nice layout and it can now do pay per view movies. Some of the features are a bit difficult to use, like the app that accesses your computer files.. but mostly it is a big plus and well worth the $99 (or even less on Amazon).

Entertainment for All Ages!

Purchased over a month ago our first Roku product: Roku 3 and Roku 1 to fit all our new and old tvs
Pros: great free entertainment (just added this to our $8 per month netflix and we don't need to pay for any movies/cable/satellite), it will satisfy everyones preferences (small kids to older over 60 crowd, even has free gaming channels), easy to use, easy to set up, tech support and customer service are very good and curtious, small and attractive looking in any style home, with the Roku 3 you don't have to aim at the box or even be in the same room and the remote with the added ear buds for one person are a nice feature (but batteries drain fast so we are using our old wireless headphone sets so we can both use on our tvs), remote very lite weight and easy to hold
Cons: no power button (go to settings/screensaver/waite time and check 5 min so they will shut off on their own), box does get Very hot (we have them set up on plastic cylinders that have large air holes to keep them cooler), the Roku 1 has had to be unplugged a few times to reset

Love my Roku 3. The best feature is the ability to use ear buds to listen to tv late at night and not disturb others in the house.

Really like the headphone features and graphics on Roku -3,but not much difference in channel content from the Roku-2.Still a great product.
