Company has it's act together

I bought this unit for a 65" tv that was relocated from family room to master bedroom and I didnt want to pay for another dvr. I already have netflix and haiku subscriptions. I absolutely love this device. It just works, and it's so small like a couple card decks. Picture quality is great from HD sources. And the phone app is great so my phone is like having another remote. And plugging headphones into the remote control is something everybody should copy. I'm a very satisfied customer. I'd rather us this instead of my smart tv interface. My only complaint would be that some providers like HBO GO should should invest in a more robust interface with more features.

Great features

I bought my Roku 3 about a month or so ago. My family and I absolutely love it. We cut the cable cord and I haven't missed a thing. For other families who need to cut cost, getting rid of high cable prices and getting a Roku 3 is a good alternative. The ear phones are wonderful. I can lie in bed a watch TV without disturbing my husband. Pretty much you can buy a Roku 3 along with an antenna and cut the cable cord all together.

Has everything I need

I bought this a little over a month ago and have not been disappointed. It is great for netflix, youtube, pandora, sports (center ice, mlbtv) and much more. The U.I. is extremely easy to navigate, there are no issues with lags or reloading shows in the middle of the program, but unfortunately searching for specific titles can take some time since you have to scroll and search letter by letter.

We had previously purchased the Chromecast deal, and that was horrid. We had so much trouble with it, and when we went to Office Depot one day, we happened to notice the Roku. The sales person described the Chromecast as "Chromecrap" and said that he really recommended the Roku. We are so happy with this purchase .. it is easy to use and works seamlessly! Highly recommend this product.

Great device, channel software needs work

I love this Roku 3. It does the job beautifully. But it is only as good as the channel software which exposes the media on my hard drive. I use Mac and Plex, and Plex is a fabulous free media server application. There is a Roku Plex channel for access to my Plex server, but it is pretty basic, specifically in structuring the media, and its music media navigation is a joke. Not Roku's fault, but it makes the Roku less great than it could be for me, especially when my internet service is too poor for streaming - I just have to use my own local media. So I can't rate the content available, sorry! But the Roku is better than Apple TV for several reasons - openness, compatibility, etc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Investment Ever!

I was paying way too much for cable, so I purchaed the Roku 3. I was so happy with the results that I purchased one for my Mother. There is a large variety of movies, games and chanels to watch in more than one language. Thank you ROKU
