I have a new wi-fi and needed to configure that which took some time but not due to Roku...operator error. I needed to reconnect my Roku to my computer and the technician was able to walk me through it and was patient as I have really gray hair!

Roku has made my life so much easier. We used to watch Netflix and others through the DVD player but it was slow and rarely worked. This worked instantaneously!

Amazing amount of channels at your finger tips.

Would you cut the cord right now with just apple TV? Doubtful. Cutting the cord usual takes time to find all of the TV one needs. Habits die hard and even thou most of the programing today is repeats on most of the satellite channels and infomercials thrown into your face for channels that you are paying for can and usually does makes some angry, me included.
It took approximately four months of software installations and searching for the right plug ins for me to cut the cord.
Getting back to Apple TV, With apple TV it was not more then a few days that I became completely frustrated and bored. There was no way to ever cut the cord from my satellite TV. I went out and purchased an Roku TV and within a few days I had installed private channels along with the all ready many bundled channels that Roku offered.
The list seems to be endless of channels that the roku adds frequently, given you a choice of free and pay channels to autocratically add to your Roku TV which, makes installation a snap for anyone with no technologically educated background. Actually the added programing that Roku offers which shows up on your roku automatic is now over one thousand channels.
I've recently have started to delete channels that are redundant and or channels that doesn't fit into my needs.
I now have more channels then any Satellite or Cable service could ever provide from Block buster movies to every movie ever made available at my finger tips.
As I mentioned before I am now insulted that I had infomercials thrown in my face after midnight every night on my Satellite service.
Before I cut the cord.
I gone back and forth from my Satellite service to the Roku over a period of three months on a daily basis.
First off, I wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything I would miss provided on my Satellite service that wasn't offered on my Roku TV. My main concern was local news, even thou I could always have my weather and news to read over the internet, there is a sense of security I needed to know that it was in my face and live when needed.

What I found as a temporary fix, was live streaming for my ABC Local News Service which just went live over the internet last month, A few days following and I'm not sure how I found this amazing free service was All of the Live networks from PA were available to all overseas Military personnel as well as free to any US Citizen. Now I found my final need for live streaming TV offered free of charge from our Government.
All television shows were now live and streaming and as far as being able to watch any TV show that I choose from retro TV to last nights airings all available from Hulu Plus for a small fee of $7.00 per month along with hundreds of free movies. This is the only channel I'll plug right now.
I've now been without any Pay TV Service for about a week and I miss nothing that my Satellite provider had offered. I again now have more available to me then ever before without "reruns or infomercials"
The freedom of paying nothing and saving over $100.00 per month makes me happy.
There are many choices available to you that offer an alternative to paying for Cable or Satellite TV.
Make sure before you cut the cord that you have acquired all of the programing your family needs and one last bit of advice the only Internet in a box service at the moment that can offer this in my opinion is the Roku. Oh, did I mention? Most of your programing is in 1080I, Brilliant HD far better then any
Satellite Service can provide. I hope this helps!

The Roku 3 loads fast and is the way to go for streaming videos over the internet. I love it and highly recommend buying, you won't be disapointed.

Simple to use but powerful

I bought this unit because I have Amazon Prime and was tired of watching the content on my pc. Roku was simple to install and very simple to operate. I can select all the movies and shows now on Amazon and watch them with ease. I have also used it to watch some video on You Tube and it works great there as well.

I bought my roku about 3 weeks ago. I love all the features it has. I have gotten my monies worth out of it already. We have enjoyed lots of movies from Netflix and vudu. Still experiencing all the other extra features.
