I bought this a month ago and finally got what I needed. All those other gadget do not put out what Roku does. Wasted my money on too many things and couldn't be happier with my purchase! It's small, it's fast and has everything - channels I never heard of. Still have lots to explore. It's so easy to hook up and operate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought the Roku not knowing what to expect. The setup was easy and so is using the Roku to find our favorite shows or watch movies. We also found a series we did not know about and enjoyed watching all the episodes "commercial free". That makes all the difference in the viewing experience.

Great cable cutting option for the money

I have tried a few different devices when I cut cable and went over the air plus internet. Xbox, Tivo, Raspberry Pi running XBMC, Playon software on a home server, and others. For the money the Roku 3 has the features, speed and flexibility to make it easy enough to recommend to those less tech savvy to set use.

Perfect Solution for me!

For a long time I had a Hulu+, Netflix, and amazon prime account. When I wanted to watch a movie or TV show on my home TV, it required wiring my laptop in to play content. This connection process was not something that was easy and sometimes it was a bit finicky. Now that I have the Roku, my fiance can watch whatever she likes without me needing to "set up the TV". The iPhone app works well for me. Its a lot better than trying to type in the name of something using the Roku remote. Good solution. I have nothing but good things to say about this. My fiance and I will be making the cord cutter leap this month. Now that we have the Roku and watching streaming content on the TV is easy, we no longer watch cable. Success!

Once I finally found out which model I needed, works great. Lower versions should also have a wired function as not everyone has wireless connections..............

Not all things work

First I don't like the idea when you activate the unit you MUST give Credit Card info or you can't go any further to set up the unit. No where does it say on any marketing site or Roku web page I could find.
Everything I read it says I can hook the unit up using Samsung Anynet, WRONG this is not true. The first time I set the Roku 3 up it showed as one of the devices. But once it installe a new version of Firmware it does not work. One other thing and one of the main reason I picked this device over others out there is it does HBO-GO. Well it does not if you have Comcast. Would be nice if they let folks know this before they spent the money buying the Roku.

I bought this a few weeks ago - easy to use. One of the best features is Plex so that I can stream video from my computer. HBO for Canada would be a nice addition.
