Amazon Prime App is unstable

While attemting to watch free streaming of videos etc using the Amazon Prime App…we frequently are not able to connect to their catalog. We have tried removing the app and reinstalling but this problem happens on a daily basis. We also have Apple TV and it does not happen using that device. We are disappointed to say the least. Calling Amazon is of no help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had our Roku for about a month now and we are still finding new channels to enjoy. Cutting cable (with Roku) was the best thing we ever did!

We dropped cable and went with antenna and Roku. The Roku is great. Good number of apps you can add via your computer. Easy to customize the unit. Has USB port to attach thumb drive and can play movies (has to be mpeg4 format though). We have netflix and amazon prime and both stream well on the unit. Highly recommend!

This is my third Roku. It is Fast. Nice user interface. And with a Time Warner Cable subscription (and online account), use the TWC app to stream a lot of digital cable content. Same for the ESPN channel - you can get all of the live broadcast content. Enjoy!

We really love being able to stream Netflix,Hulu,Amazon Prime & many more on out big HD tv in the living room! We may have to buy more because everybody wants there turn!Super great product & very easy to use! :) :) :)

I have found the Roku unit to be well worth the cost. I like being able to search multiple providers (amazon, hulu, net flicks, etc) at the same time. I haven't had any connection issues. the menus seem to be fine. there are games you can buy, but I don't buy games and play them. It comes with an angry birds game that is fun play once in awhile.
If I had any suggestions to make it would be to have the clock showing no matter what menu you are in. currently, once a show is over, I have to back out to the main menu and then find my show and start the next episode. It would be nice to be able to simply look up and see the time.
a rechargeable remote would be a welcome thing as well, possibly. the unit seems to notice when you are near it and will turn itself on and off if you are sitting there holding it, or if you walk near it. also, if one uses the headphones a lot, I imagine that the battery life would go quickly, but I haven't had mine long enough for that.

Love my Roku

We have been dissatisfied with options on tv even with the additional channels available through our satellite server. So we mainly watch movies and old tv shows using Netflix. Prior to our getting the Roku 3, I was using my laptop plugged directly into the tv. Constantly the show would get behind in tracking or freeze. It was very frustrating. This has not happened at all with the Roku 3. I also love the clarity of the picture.
My only negative comment is some of the tv channels which we would like to put on the Roku are not available through my server. If I could do this, I could completely eliminate the need for my high cost satellite service.

I purchased this in hopes of being able to get rid of the premium channels on DirecTV and to my surprise I have decided that I can cut back to basic DirecTV and save $100 a month instead of just $25... Great device!!
