So Far So Good, But...

The Roku 3 works well on my older Samsung flat screen TV in the living room, but I bought it for my even older RCA flat screen in the bedroom, where it did not work. I wanted it in the bedroom because of the remote with headphones. The headphones don't really help in the living room where everyone watches together. I can't and won't buy a new TV for the bedroom, so I am not really getting what I wanted out of the system.

I am STILL finding things to watch and love the ease of navigation. Cannot wait to buy a new amp so I can listen thru stereo

used a ps3 to navigate netflix etc til I talked to a friend who had a roku. I took a chance and it was the best $ ever spent. very inexpensive too $90 on amazon. the picture is 100% clearer, no buffering so it communicates much quicker to wifi. just much easier to navigate than through a PS3 or a smart tv. So many channel options that are also easier to navigate through than a smart tv. It updates often also, much more so than a smart tv. So you have the latest added movies and other info added daily.

Roku 3 handles sub-titles; closed captions; Netflix profiles; & much more :-)
This is an excellent streaming player, all features work as they are supposed to which cannot be said of other players. We bought the Roku 3 because my husband is very deaf & needs captions or sub-titles to be able to follow any program or movie properly. There is a difference between sub-titles & closed captions & not all streaming players can handle both even if they say they do!!
A few of the movies on Netflix have sub-titles, which basic players will show, but all of the TV shows only have closed captions. Roku 3 handles both, it also handles Netflix profiles, it's easy to set up & use, we are very satisfied with it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love watching my K dramas on my TV. I have found the dramas occasionally will drop out and return to the home screen. Irritating. It is easy to use and I don't have any other complaints except you have to subscribe to the other suppliers, Netflix for example.

I have been using the Roku 3 for about a month and have found it to work as advertised. I have noticed that picture quality is not quite as good as the Samsung Smart hub streaming. However the smart hub is not as reliable. Smarthub has been experiencing numerous problems recently and has not improved very much. The Roku on the other hand has always worked. I use the HDMI connection to my 500 series plasma and have notice that picture quality is not as good as I think it could be. Many of the channels have inferior picture quality but it's not so bad that it's a show stopper. If I had any complaint it would have to be the remote not being able to recharge. When using headphones connected to the remote the battery life is greatly shortened. being able to recharge or even a charging cradle like the harmony remotes would be a real nice improvement. The other complaint would be that many channels require a cable or satelite customer number to use them. I do not subscribe to these type of services simply because of their over priced monthly costs. That's why I got the Roku. Considering the price and capabilities of the Roku. I am quite satisfied and would recommend it to any one who asked.

The Roku was wasy to install and connect to Wi-fi. I So far it is working as advertised. I'm very pleased.
