Really easy to use

I bought this roku 3 because I wanted to get rid of cable and so far I don't miss it one bit, I connected it to my tv via hdmi and use the movies I have in my hard drive or thumb drive. It found my wify and connected instantly. It can read mp4 files and mkv files with dts sound which sound great. I had amazon prime and added netflix and hulu plus and now I can't seem to have enough time to watch all the shows and movies that are available at my finger tips

The Best Gift I Ever Received

My friends collectively purchased a Roku for me for the holiday season after I kept annoying them for one. As a big fan of both television and movies, having a Roku compliments my home entertainment system like no other. It's easy to use and navigate; with an abundance of ever growing apps to make the device even better, the Roku is an essential part of my daily tv routine.

I had one of the first Rokus on the market and used it to watch Netflix movies.
Then I read about the new Roku 3 and everything that was available....did some research as to what people were saying about it....decided to buy one and absolutely love it. We added a new TV to a room without a DirectTV connection and after putting the Roku 3 on the TV have decided we don't need to put it on satellite....Roku 3 gives us so much programming on it's own!! And my experience with Customer Support regarding a problem I was having was excellent....very quick and efficient....no longer any problems!!

I don't play a lot of video games so I definitely wasn't going to buy a console just to stream movies and tv shows. I went to a friend's place and he had a Roku 3 set up and I played around with it and absolutely loved it. So in December I decided just to buy one. It was the best purchase I've made in a while. I have a Plex media server running on my laptop and it works great. I sometimes, ok a lot of times, lose my remotes but I always have my phone ready so I have the Roku app until the remote turns up again. The only problem I have is that the keyboard in the app doesn't work with some of the channels like Hulu plus. The youtube channel is like that too but you can just pair the channel with your phone and search while another video is playing on the tv. And if you plan on playing games or use the headphone jack in the remote get some rechargeable batteries. Two months in and

ROKU opens new era of entertainment

This is our first streaming device and ROKU 3 is a fantastic device. It was very easy to setup (except the remote was not synced to the unit-about 30 minutes of puzzlement).
We have HD but never bought the service and ROKU streams fantastic HD and sound.
This has changed the way we view entertainment!

Better than wifi tv

I have a wifi tv that I normally use for Netflix, Amazon streaming, etc. Half of the time, it has huge lags while loading, doesn't load at all, stops in the middle of what I am watching... So, I bought a Roku for another non-wifi tv in my house. No comparison! Set-up was seamless and I have not had one small glitch. I like the apps on the Roku better than on my wifi tv as well. Best $100 I've spent in a long time.
