Great with one set back

All is great when the reception is great. At times I get horizontal lines streaming across the screen

There what seems to be 100s of channels, most of them free and I can choose just the ones I am interested. If I want pay channels most of them cost less then $8 a month. We have saved ourselves about $1300 a year from our cable bill by getting Roku. I couldn't be happier!

Okay device, good quality picture

I was using a computer to send my Netflix video to the tv. When the computer failed I decided on the Roku 3. I really miss my computer. The Roku is okay, but it doesn't have a good user interface and the apps are the worst ever. For example the Netflix apps only shows picture tiles and list of programs. There doesn't seem to be a way to sort shows and movies. The Roku 3 also reboots randomly. Some times in the middle of a movie. However, I do like the headphone jack on the remote.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Huge upgrade from Apple TV and WD Live

I've used multiple media players like this in the past and each one of them always seemed to have something missing. I started with the Popcorn Hour and it wasn't ever very polished (significantly improved now but WAY more expensive than Roku) then moved to the WD Live where I never felt I could do as much as I wanted to and then to the Apple TV where I felt this was the most polished of all of the devices however as all Apple products are, it was limited to exactly what Apple provided you.
Roku has brought the best of all of these with a clean and easy to use interface (setup was extremely simple), application support for things like YouTube. I can connect my iPhone via the app and "push" a video to the TV. No more trying to type with a remote, just pull the video up on my phone and there it is on the TV, just like with my Apple TV.
However, I think my favorite thing about the Roku, besides it being extremely responsive is the ability to add the Plex application. Plex ties into my Media Server and allows me to play all the files I have on my computer without a problem. Roku and Plex have finally solved a 5 year journey for a solution to my media needs.
