Great streamer!

The Roku is great! I love that I can access Hulu and Netflix content on my TV. My only negative comments are that the picture does seem a little grainy at times and I wish there was a better distinction between any free content and the apps that require an outside subscription. Remote is light and quick, wish it had a volume control, love the option to listen to sound using the earphones!

The Roku has problems reading a lot of files with a high resolution of 1080p (MP4, MPG, etc.) and there's audio problems with some MKV. There's a lot less apps in Canada than in the US. But the interface, the remote, and about everything else is great.

Nice features but needs "new" things to be great

I've used this a lot since I bought it over a month ago and really like that it actually oes have some free content compared to the usual "Smart" TV pay for everything stuff they hawk. As far as streaming ability--the Roku 3 works very well even on dsl. Very clear almost looks like full 1080p picture and good enough audio. That being said above there is so much room for improvement to make Roku stand out better. The most important is getting an almost full keyboard remote so using the search and putting in info is not as if we stepped back into the 1980's. If the next generation does not have this keyboard then Roku will fade away as most devices do when they refuse to be user friendly. I know there are channels which allow me to do collections of channels but I want more!! I want to be able to create a group of channels in one channel which will allow me to watch all the content that is new in each channel in a sequence automatically just by hitting a button once as it goes through each clip in order without forcing me to click on each vid to watch it. They also need to add more live streaming channels or even slightly delayed streaming channels which are more like live tv instead of just a collection of separate video clips which must be each clicked on to watch. That's it from me since I have no experience with any other Roku product except I'd like to mention that I really do like the headphone plugged into the remote and use it a lot--very cool feature!!

Expected A Better Product

Netflix worked great for a month then constantly gave me the annoying message "Cannot play this title right now, please try another title or try again later." Sometimes this message comes up every 5 min. On the other hand, I can watch free channels for hours on end with no problems. Had problems connecting to my LAN - connects to my wireless network fine. All other wireless devices in the room work great and did not have this problem connecting. However, I like the style and taste of Roku, the Product looks neat and has great concepts - for the most part (other than Netflix) I am happy with my Roku 3. I bought 2 of them, so hopefully some improvements with Netflix can be made in the future.

Very Few Complaints

Owned Roku 3 for almost 2 months. Has worked very well and has everything I thought that it would plus a little bit more. My only complaint is that when watching certain channels, the audio through my HDMI cable will go silent for around one minute then go back on. It repeats around once every ten minutes. The picture continues to run, just sound goes out. Mostly on HD movie rentals. Replaced all parts but the Roku itself without resolution.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Little Internet Streamer

I purchased this product for my TV located in my vacation home in Mexico. It is a great device but it is intended for USA internet use. Unless you have access to a US IP address you will not be able to use it out of the country. I did have access to a US IP address so it was not a problem for me. Another aspect of the purchase was that the Roku 3 supported Sling Box/ Sling player which would allow me to view my cable box back in the states. However, you need a android phone or iphone to control the slingplayer program. It is a little cumbersome and the Roku website was not clear that you needed a phone to operate the program. In fact, you really do not need an app on your Roku connected TV. You are required to purchase an app on your Iphone or android phone to install the slingplayer program, which allows you to stream the contents through the Roku device. Like I said it is cumbersome, but it works.
