Just the Right Size

I bought the Roku 3 to replace an HTPC box that I was using to drive my multimedia. While the HTPC worked wonderfully, I was unsatisfied with the under-utilization of it. Since most of my media consumption consisted of relatively mainstream sources (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon VoD, etc.), I concluded that there was probably a better solution than devoting a $1000 PC to play that media. So, I figured I'd give the Roku a try.
At first, I was skeptical that such a small box could play high-definition content very well. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Roku plays all of those aforementioned sources seamlessly. The Roku's operating system interface is straightforward and easy to use. In fact, I found that the simple, efficient interface is so pleasant to use, I vastly prefer it to my more complex [albeit more versatile] HTPC interface. In the Roku's Channel Store, I found all the major apps that I commonly use, and even a few that I didn't expect that have turned out to provide great content.
If I had to provide any criticism about the Roku, it's that [in my opinion] the application development for it isn't the greatest. Don't get me wrong, there are PLENTY of applications on their marketplace, but a large number of them are relatively immature, and they don't seem to get updated very often. One of my biggest concerns is that because the Roku operating system is not as prevalent as other more popular media platforms, it apps might not get as much developer attention (now and in the future) as those others.
Overall, for the value, I would highly recommend the Roku 3 media player for the average consumer. I'm glad I made the purchase.

So Easy to use

I have an Apple TV then got the ROKU. I put the Apple TV on the basement TV and use the ROKU on my bedroom TV. I love it. So easy to use has so many features like forward and reverse. I bought one for my boyfriend who also loves it. I will continue buying the ROKU as gifts for family and friends.

Roku 3 - AWESOME!

We purchase a Roku 3 after investigating/researching the various options on the market (other streaming devices from other companies) and I am very pleased with the Roku 3's performance and ease of use. This device is an absolutely wonderful option for us since we were tired of paying costly cable prices for packages that we rarely utilized (the channels/programs/movies we enjoy have to be in certain cable packages with a bunch of stuff we do not watch). Roku 3 gives us the control of our media and there are choices for on demand services that offer great prices/quality for movies and TV that we desire to own and/or rent. Thank you Roku!

Great product

Roku has made cutting the cord on satellite easy! Even has channels for the outdoors focused men in my home. Lots of free channels. Makes it easy to pay for shows/movies you want but not have to pay the outrageous monthly fee. Vizio Co-Star does have a Google search app that would be nice to see on Roku too.
