better choice than smart tv

We now enjoy watching our streaming programs on our TV as opposed to our computer. We do not have cable or broadcast television so this is our only source for entertainment, and Roku offers many options in just a click...or quite a few clicks if searching for a program (one of the downsides). Our Roku3 offers private listening from the remote, which is a nice feature, but it's definitely a battery killer. (keep extras on hand because without your remote you can't use Roku ) There is an app that can be downloaded to your android devices that can simplify searches,etc. but if you are not media savvy it can prove complicated. Keep in mind that having a Netflix or Hulu Plus membership will greatly improve your viewing options.
Setting-up the Roku was simple and non-intimidating. We were watching a program with-in minutes of installing Roku!
All-in-all our family really enjoys the wide variety of programming available to us from one central location and media streams better through our Roku than on our computer which has enhanced our viewing experience. Please remember that your Roku can only perform to the level of your internet service!

Even a kid can use it!

Roku is great. Love the free channels, though I had originally thought that more of the channels it "came with" were free. But we mainly wanted it to stream Netflix and Amazon which we do have, and not have to do it through our Wii which was cumbersome. Our child uses the Roku easily.

We have had this for a little over a month now and it is great! There are tons of channels to choose from but the best part about it is I don't have to pay for Xbox Live anymore!

Love this Little Gadget

I am really happy with this. It takes the hassle out of streaming. I use to hook up my laptop to the big screen and run a long wire for the mouse. No more, this wireless action with the Roku is great. I watch my Netflix, Hulu with ease. I highly recommend this product. I did have to buy an extra program for my computer in order to get regular Hulu.

It has been over a month that I have this product and can say, I am impressed. It has HD quality streaming which I love, and all featrues included are a bonus, like close captioning. I only wish there was a better way to do a search for titles,rather than going through the alphabets.

I had just about stopped watching TV altogether because of the commercials every 5 minutes for 5 minutes. I couldn't find the old reruns of Magnum, PI anywhere. My Brit TV options were dwindling and I love the Duck Dynasty dudes but dieting on them is debilitating! Then my dear husband of 27 years decided to buy me a Roku for Christmas....WOW....shall I list the ways that I love thee now, dear? Ok since you asked: Adam 12. Dragnet 1967. Magnum PI. Quincy, ME. Foyles War, Miss Marple, Keeping Up Appearances, Orange is the New Black.....(had to go to Confession after watching THAT!)
Needless to say, hubby is sort of regretting buying the Roku now....but at least he always knows where to find me if he needs something!

Love my Roku!

This is a great way to get streaming video on your TV. Very small device so it doesn't take up a lot of space. Works great. Lots of free TV programs out there. The only down side is some channels will only work if you have a cable TV provider. It'd be great if they had subscription options without needing cable.

i got this for christmas and have been very happy with it. i enjoy using all of the features from netflix to my iphone app. i would like to be able to play movies from my iphone on the roku though. everything else is outstanding
