Great product - easy to setup and use.

We bought this product for our first time streaming online content. Works great. Easy to setup and use and no issues whatsoever with streaming content. Using Netflix right now but also has access to many more content providers. You should get the Roku 3.

Better, but not quite there yet

The Roku 3 is exceptional compared to previous models in a few ways. For one, I'm glad that I can now play media through a usb port (even though formats are limited). In addition to this, the streaming capabilities are better than the previous models, mostly just faster.
I do have some complaints. The remote that comes with the Roku 3 doesn't work very well. Even with new batteries, the remote will stop working entirely for extended periods making it impossible to change the channel. Another issue is that the playback off the usb drives is spotty. Sometimes it will freeze, forcing the Roku to restart which takes a little longer than I'd like. Finally, the Roku product line still needs to come up with an easier method by which to input letters. When I'm on YouTube (which is now available) it can take a lot of time for me to scroll through a single line of letters, back and forth, until I finally get to what i want. Other streaming devices (gaming consoles, cough cough, sniff sniff) have keyboard attachments or remotes that makes the search process more about typing rather than searching for individual letters.
Overall, this is a good product; good enough to get rid of my cable. There are some issues but I anticipate that they will be resolved with newer models or software updates.

I can't stress enough how awesome this device is for me. From the lightning quick responsiveness of the menu system, to the application variety and to the fact I can stream local content with ease there's no better appliance for my living room.
Now, why the but...? Well, Roku is KNOWN for having a horrible performance issue with HBO GO. I have the same problem. I watch many of the series on HBO and I have to watch them on my laptop screen instead of my beautiful TV screen because the Roku refuses to stream the content. I can stream it in full HD on another device in the same room using the same network so what's the problem? I have 300 Mb/s down and 300 Mb/s up for goodness sake (yes that can be true look up AT&T Gigapower). Everything is perfectly poised and configured for a seamless experience and I just don't get it.
So, outside the HBO Go issue, the device is phenomenal and I wouldn't use anything else. If they fix the pesky HBO Go app (C'mon guys tons of people are reporting the same thing) then I think we have perfection personified. Period.
One last thing, whoever came up with the headset jack in the remote.... GENIUS!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this after reading reviews on many different devices like this. So glad I went the Roku. Easy to use and everyone in the family can use it even the little ones. easy to seyup and use can't go wrong with this Roku
