Nearly perfect, except for Slingbox users

Bought this for general streaming and using the Slingplayer app. Steaming was great.
Slingplayer app, however, was ridiculous. Instead of connecting directly to your Slingbox, it requires you to use an app on your smartphone to connect to your Slingbox, which also uses your smartphones wireless internet to stream the data, and then blasts the video over to the Roku. I had to go with another media streamer that had a Slingplayer app that didn't require my smartphone in order to view media from my Slingbox.

Got this for Christmas. Easy set up and works great. The remote is simple to use and very reponsive. I use the headphone jack sometimes to watch movies quietly on Amazon Instant Video without bothering my wife.

We recently purchased the Roku 3 and have been very happy with it. It's nice to have the option to connect to the internet via wi-fi or a wired ethernet connection. Setup was very easy. It has worked without any problems so far. Has more channels than any other similar device. It would be nice to have volume control for the TV on the Roku remote.

I had been using my Blu Ray WIFI and the constant buffering was driving me crazy. No way to watch Netflix. I read up on the Roku and decided to purchase the newer ROKU 3. It is very simple to hook up and use. Now we watch shows and movies on Netflix with no buffering issues and great sound and picture quality. I love this unit and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to upgrade their current wireless streaming device. The added bonus is my Roku 3 came with an HDMI cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this right after Christmas and I'm not very tech savvy. It is easy enough to use and I did sign up for Amazon Prime... 2 problems for me... I bought it because it had PBS and I wanted to watch the News Hour, but the NH is days old before it is on Roku, so I generally watch it on my computer where I can view today
s program, today after 7-8 pm. The other issue is I bought Roku because I did not want to pay for cable or satellite TV... but most of what Roku offers is subscription, even the work-out channels... so today I went to the library and picked up 3 yoga workouts... I was hoping Roku would give me a single easy option... that is not how it turned out.

I first discovered Roku just before the Christmas season. While I don't watch much television, I did add it to my wishlist. After receiving it, I hooked it up and instantly fell in love. A couple of months afterwards, I have only grown to love it more and more. I have used it every day and have replaced all of my traditional methods of watching TV. The compact size, easy-wifi connection and seemingly unlimited apps, really takes a regular TV and puts it past the Smart TV at a much happier price.
