Exceeded my expectations.

I bought this device thinking it was going to be just another streaming box, but it's actually better then my XBOX 360 or any other media device I have streamed with. It's ridiculously fast with it's loading times of apps, shows, etc. and the sound quality is definitely better then any other device I have used to stream, including the XBOX and my Sony BluRay player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Product with Hidden Costs

The Roku 3 works well. It's easy to set up, search for channels and find shows. While many are offered at no additional cost, almost everything I really wanted to watch required an extra membership fee. It's great for streaming shows if you're already a member of Netflix, Hulu, etc. and much better than watching on a small screen but still it can be costly. When I use it I like it but it's not something I turn to very often due to the disappointment of finding something I like only to face additional fees.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Weak.

I got the Roku 3 for Xmas and for the past month I have tried to watch Netflix and other channels. The reception is so weak that I get continual buffering and messages telling me to try another channel or exit and come back later. If I want another channel I have to pay for it and the ones I don't have to pay for I can get on my computer without the buffering. The channels-for-pay offered are all showing movies or TV programs that are passed their prime. Reception-weak. Channels-weak. No point to buying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Must Have!!!!!

To get 1080p and 5.1 audio that Netflix now offers the Roku 3 is simply a "must have" and it was up and running in less than 5 minutes.

Good Investment

I received the Roku as a gift but have been looking at them for a while. It does most of what I expected. Sure beats wiring the computer to the AV system and the associated audio problems. Once I had it up and running I was reminded that you need to still pay for the majority of content such as Netflix. There are some good free channels that I really enjoy. The remote is great for simple stuff and games but not the best for inputting a text search for movies, tec. The I-phone remote app was an unexpected benefit. I was expecting to be able to send picture from my computer to the TV. I can do it from the I-phone but it would be awesome if it was easy to do it from the computer.
