i purchased a roko 3 for christmas 2013. it was extremely easy to install. we enjoy the music-netflix ect. highly recomended. 100 star plus sincerly richard

I can't explain how wonderful the Roku is - affordable, easy to use, and allows you to access every imaginable app you would ever need in one place. My only regret is that I didn't purchase one years ago.

Can't get Dolby through to home theater equipment

I have a Bose home theater system that will do Dolby 5.1. Roku 3 has only the HDMI output. This forces me to connect it to my TV, which will not pass through the Dolby signal, so I don't get that great movie theater sound when using my Roku. The cable DVR has a digital audio out which is how I pass Dolby 5.1 from it to the Bose. I'm not in a position to upgrade the TV at this time, so I'm stuck with less than I'm used to sound-wise when using Roku.

I've been a happy 1st gen Roku user for years, but it was finally time to upgrade--I was so glad I did! With the Roku 3, content loads faster and plays in a higher quality compared to the 1st gen device. Also, two extra features are huge: the headphone output on the remote that allows for silent watching; and the main search function that searches ALL channels for the content that you're looking for. Brilliant.

I put off my leaving cable tv for almost a year. Now that I've done that, and am a happy Roku user, I don't myself know what took me so long. It's easy, quick and almost a pleasure to use. I'd recommend this to all my friends and do!
