I love the Roku 3. I have my Plex server set up on my computer and I stream all of my media from my PC to the Roku, regardless of file type. It has Netflix, Hulu, many other apps. One of my favorite features is that the smartphone app versions of Hulu and Youtube work with the Roku and you can queue up videos directly to your roku (much like Chromecast). To me this is like Chromecast x10. Buy one and you won't regret it!

Almost great

I switched from an Apple TV 2 to a Roku 3, and I'm mostly satisfied with the switch. I'm still getting used to the lack of Airplay, and I'm not happy that HBO Go in Roku doesn't support Comcast subscriptions. I do like the interface, the remote app works well, and I like the broader choice of channels vs. the Apple TV.

Stuttering/jittery playback with LG LD550

I love the Roku 3 product. Unfortunately, due to stuttering/jiterry playback on at least LD550 television sets I cannot use this product. Roku and LG are pointing fingers at one another; neither providing a definitive cause or a resolution to the problem.

A great unit to help break the lousy alternatives

I just moved back here from the middle east after 16 years abroad and was shocked to find the lousy quailty and high fees of the alternative TV entertainment offerings which area so heavily over done with very annoying rubbish advertisements and simply refused to sign up to it, I would rather have NO TV that subscribe to that. Then someone told me about ROKU! I was already signed up to the supern Netficks, but via our laptop, which was a nuisance to keep connecting/diconnetcting. Now I ahve a ROKU and watching Netflicks and a host of other interestingchannels, without the lousy cancer of advertising is simply great for me and and for my family...Good job ROKU!

Good, but needs more content

So Roku's execution on this thing is pretty solid. Makes getting to Netflix and Hulu really easy. The earbuds on the remote is a surprisingly nice feature, I often use it while my wife is sleeping or reading in bed. My only issue with it, is there's still not enough content on it. Netflix is great for old TV shows, and Hulu is good for current TV shows (unless you're more then 4 episodes behind, and don't really watch cable shows) but AMC, Sports, discovery channels need to step it up. ITo network execs: I want to watch your shows, go ahead and interlace your commercials, I don't mind, but I don't want to pay Comcast any money. The writing is one the wall, start streaming.

I tried the Roku on the advice of a friend. I do like a lot about it. I wish there were more "live streaming feeds" on it. On-demand is OK, but I think it would be a more attractive service if it had more live feeds. It works pretty well although mine tends to restart itself more than I think it should. And many of the on-demand "stations" vary in quality a great deal. But that said, I went back to Costco to get another one for another room and they were out! They said they should get more.
