We have been using Roku over 1 month now. Unit does not lock up, doesn't pause or buffer. Just plays without any hitches. Great investment. Paid for itself in lack of waiting on the first night of viewing.

I wanted to turn in one of my cable boxes to eliminate the $13 extra rental. The Roku 2 Worked exactly as I had hoped and the savings will pay for it in just 6 months. My older HDTV has been basically turned into a Smart TV.

Roku3 is exactly what I needed. I currently have Netflix and Amazon Prime and the Roku3 nicely ties both services in. I can use the Roku search for specific movies and actors. Also use the ESPN app to watch several sports program that wasn't shown locally.

Disappointed, ended up returning the product

Got the Roku with the goal of being able to cancel my cable TV service. The Roku was easy enough to set up, but the "promise" of hundreds of channels of free TV was quickly dashed. Almost every channel that had content I wanted to see had a fee either for the channel or the individual episodes, so while Roku might have been cheaper than my cable bill, it wasn't going to be "only $8 a month" which is what I had been hearing. I was still thinking it might be worth it, until I saw the poor picture quality and constant buffering interruptions. The quality and the cost of the content, as well as the ease of use (the search function on Roku was very clumsy) doesn't even come close to what I can do with cable TV, so I ended up returning the device. I still have hopes for Internet and streaming TV to replace cable, but it's not quite there yet, in my opinion.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just What I Needed for My Busy Schedule!

I was in the market for a streamer and was going back and forth between Apple TV and the Roku and I am so glad I bought the Roku! Has such a wide variety of channels like the standard Hulu, Netflix & Pandora but also has stepped it up to IHeartRadio, YouTube and Spotify. Our family also are big fans of WWE and it will be supporting the WWE Network when it launches in a couple of weeks. Of course, many of the channels are by subscription but this way I can pick and choose my channels and services based on what our house likes and we still have at least a $50 savings from not having cable. Just what we needed! Haven't really explored the movie channels as we aren't big movie watchers but plenty of options available too for movies. Also love that you can plug headphones into the remote for times you want to watch TV and the rest of the house needs quiet.

We asked for a Roku for Christmas, and we are really liking it. The first couple of days were a bit rough, as the set-up didn't work correctly at first (as in, switching inputs between the TV, DVD player & Roku didn't work smoothly), but now it's working great. Occasionally, the internet will give out & I'll need to reset the modem, but that's all it takes & it only happens once every two weeks or so. Overall, very happy with it now.
