quick, easy, reliable

I bought my Roku 3 about a month ago and am so far very happy with the purchase. It's never lags or freezes and adding channels/viewing content is a breeze. I also absolutely love the ability to plug headphones into the remote for private listening, which alone puts it above the equally priced Apple TV. This way I can watch Netflix without disturbing my roommate. Although, this feature is a major power hog so also purchase some rechargeable batteries if you're going to use it frequently. I went through the pair Roku provides in the box in only a week, which I'd estimate to be around 6-8 hours of use. The Roku currently doesn't have any mirroring setup like the Chromecast or the Apple TV. I don't have a particular need for this but I would love it if they added this feature. I have many movies and a ton of music on my computer which I would really like to be able to stream to the Roku. This shouldn't be so challenging to do for them since it's only a software issue and I'm actually surprised that they don't already have a setup like this included.

Best Christmas gift!

My Roku was given to me as a Christmas gift and it has been amazing. I use the Pandora Channel the most as I love music. My housemates use the Hulu channel a lot. The Roku has been a great addition to the house and was something I had been looking a long time. Had I known of the Roku I would have got it long before my friends gave it to me.
The Roku combines my media in a better way than consoles or computers. I listen to Pandora most every chance I get, but previously could only use it via my computer. Roku ties it into my TV allowing me to listen to it much more easily while relaxing in the living room with a nice fire or cup of tea.
It was a great gift.

Doorway to the world of modern media.

I bought this as a way of getting to all the digital media out there without having pay for a cable/satellite provider. At first I was concerned I'd need to have a really high download speed from my ISP, but even with my mid-level speed the Roku never had to buffer.
It's a very easy box to set up, and they've corrected the manual to make sure you find that button on the back of the remote to sync with unit.

The Roku was easy to setup and pretty straight forward to use. I've only spent a few hours exploring so far, but between advertising embedded in what movies are directly available (Not Netflix, etc.) and the cost per program, I'm a bit disappointed. A single episode of House was $1.99. Too many other programs have a price tag. Consider this before purchasing.

Sometimes I do miss live TV and I'm sad that many shows I watch regularly aren't featured...yet, when I realized I'm watching many shows that I still do love and have NO bill, I get OVER that real fast!!!!
