Looks good when it works, but has issues

Bought 1 month ago, using it mostly to watch Netflix, and Plex, Pandora. Music sounds great, Netflix plays well, but the media player function and Plex channel has problems streaming better than 2Mbps 720p, even though it is rated up to 1080p at 5Mbps. Super easy setup, and hooks up to the wireless router with only a few clicks. Have had a lot of videos/shows that will take a long time to load (some up to 10 minutes), then will play, then will load again, play a bit, then load again etc. Roku does not play .mkv files consistently, have actually had it crash several times while trying to watch 1080p files. I mainly bought this over some of the other boxes due to the headphone jack in the remote- it's a nice function, but I find it will cut out intermittently, only for a half a second every so often, but enough to be distracting. It's nice when it's working, but frustrating when it's not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was assuming that installation would be a nightmare complete with hours of hold time with a call center. Surprise!! Fast, easy.
Works beautifully and I can't believe the choices on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., etc. Also, FINALLU have a decent local weather channel!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the recording feature

Bought mine and then changes my provider (Century Link who couldn't provide hi-speed). Now we have higher speed internet and I love my Roku3. The staff helped alot because I had to re-register after my change over. I like the record DVD and have lots of alternative shows to watch besides TV.
