Love this player!

I got this for Christmas and am pretty happy with it for the most part. Lots of channels and works pretty well. The interface is much better then Apple TV.
The only problem is that it resets itself sometimes. Not sure why that is.

Thoughts on R3

Much better than R2. Wireless sound off the remote is a great feature; fair audio quality.
Wish it had an alarm clock feature.
Wish it used the same style of DC power connector as R2.
Wish it had a web browser or ability to display web content from a browser running on another PC in the home. Would probably need direct-WiFi keyboard too.
Media player doesn't seem to support normal JPG files transferred from mobiles or PC.

Wish it could play DVR content off my U-Verse DVR.
Still locks up, but seems to detect it and reboot itself faster than R2.
Direct-WiFi for remote should use a different freq band and channel than the one it uses to talk to the home WiFi access point.
Incorrectly displays remote battery low indicator.

Only missing ONE feature

We absolutely love the Roku 3. It has replaced almost all of our devices. The quality and performance is amazing and we've not had a single problem with it.
The only feature I REALLY WISH IT HAD is AirPlay. I have an AppleTV (which I only use for AirPlay) and if Roku had this capability, it would be a totally amazing device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We were unsatisfied with our smart blue ray player and needed something faster, and easier to use. Remote can be used under a blanket and fits well in the hand. Excellent product! We love our Roku 3!
