A Great Decision

I purchased this unit as a way to view my Amazon Prime streaming video from my T.V. in the living room. WOW, I now have a single unit with tons of apps and channels!!! I HAD a blu-ray player, my 321 BOSE surround sound unit on my mantle, in other words I was looking for something small and powerful. I was able to just use the Roku3 and the surround sound BOSE!!! I can see my mantle again! I had been a cable / satellite "cutter" long ago this makes me feel like I'm spoiled with all of the available Roku channels I don't know why anyone would even subscribe to pay T.V.
I have no need for blu-ray as the streaming HD video content is excellent and using the digital audio out from my TV to BOSE unit I have 5.1 digital dolby. This unit is very powerful as it integrates with my Droid devices and with a few simple channels add - I also have access to my movies and music from my home storage area- Best money I have spent in a very long time!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got this for a Christmas Gift. I love it. You can stream so many movies and tv shows on it and it also has screen savers too.

ROKU 2 A little box with a lot to give :-) Simple installation and fantastic support. Found a problem and ROKU isolated the problem to a brand new HDMI cable. Unobtrusive design and ideal for non tecchies like me

I got this for Christmas and it was a big upgrade from using our old BluRay player that had a Netflix app. Much more streamlined and fast, and many more apps. I like having the watch ESPN, A&E, Netflix, and so many other apps at my disposal. It did freeze up on me a couple times, but it worked fine after I unplugged it and plugged it back in.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Someone told me that using roku with comcast cable was problematic - something to do with IP addresses? Not too up on that. However roku 3 has no problems. Loading time sometimes delayed if hooked via wireless so we wired it and no issues. Looks great sounds great. Haven't really looked into this yet, but is there a way of changing the my channels view so favorites are at the top?

I was given Roku 3 as a Christmas present. Like the ease of setup and use. Had it up and running in 5 minutes. Great for PBS fans as can watch most shows day after they are aired and no commercials - good for HBO etc., if you go on vacation and take pay subscriptions with you. Only problem I have is I have to cut power to it each time I use it or unauthorized screen comes up when I try to view something.
