I bought the roku 3 at christmas. I read reviews on it, was a little worried about it being a bandwidth hog but it doesn't seem too bad. I would absolutely recommend it. Having youtube on it makes it even better.

I bought this a month ago. I purchased it with a Best Buy gift card I received as a Christmas gift from my son. My wife and I are Amazon Prime members and really don't watch movies on the small laptop screen, so I was looking into buying a Google Chromecast but after reading up on that, I found that it would be difficult to watch Amazon Prime Movies using Chromecast. Chromecast, although you can watch Netflix and a few other channels directly from your TV. Amazon Prime and many other channels you can't watch unless you use your PC, laptop or other mobile device then you have to cast it to your TV, and this doesn't always work well. Roku is awesome!!! Just plug it in, and set it up in minutes. You are instantly ready to watch your favorite movies, whether it is Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Redbox Steaming Video, Blockbuster on Demand,and straight from your TV. There are literally hundreds of other channels that you can watch, including A&E and other cable and network channels. There are so many free channels out there that you can enjoy with the Roku. Roku has it's own remote control which makes incredibly nice, and if you buy the Roku3 it has an earphone jack built right into the remote. This feature is extremely nice. It allows you watch you favorite movies without disturbing others. My wife and I just love our Roku3. It is much better than I ever imagined it would be.

Amazing gateway to entertainment + knowledge

This was a Christmas gift that I had no idea of the value of until I began to use it. I have to discipline myself to stay off it because one can get lost in the vast array of entertainment it offers. This would be a godsend to a home bound senior or handicapped person. One word of caution, depending on the channels you choose ( I chose to subscribe to netflix for now) do not let your children use it unsupervised As there are many inappropriate TV, and movie offerings. Also, I suggest getting the ROKU app for searching, it's much easier than the drop down box on the remote

The Roku is an absolutely continental shift in delivering content to your TV screen. Get the Roku and an account with NetFlix and Hulu Plus, and you will have all the content you want to keep you entertained, when you WANT it! On your schedule, when you're ready. What are you waiting for?

I bought 2 of these one for the exercise room and one for the living room. The one in the exercise room cuts out when watching movies thru Netflix. That might be netflix problem. I don't know

I wish Comcast supported more features

I received this as a present. While it functions as advertised, the fact that my local cable operator - Comcast - does not support many of the features makes its utility less than I had hoped for.
