Has great potential

The Roku is ok. Does have lots of channels however most require you take extra steps and time to sign in with a user name etc... Some channels (History and A&E for example) will only let you watch a few episodes unless you make an account with them. Then they show a code that you then have to go back onto your computer and login only to find out that my cable company (Comcast) is not on their "approved" list. If it were, I would then have to sign in with their (Comcast) login credentials. Kind of a pain. No way to contact History or A&E. Tried to email them but they never replied. So Roku is ok for the money.

Fantastic = What took me so long

I purchased the Roku-3 over month ago at the advice of a friend that has been telling me about it for over a year. It is fantastic, easy to install, (I am 70 and NOT Tech Savy), and never had any problems with the on screen instructions. I mostly watch Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. It has completly replaced my DVD player. I have never experienced any buffering as I did with my Blue Ray player. I am totally satisfied and have recommended it to most of my friends.

Freezes, restarts, Doesn't play avi or AC3 Audio

I have had the Roku 3 for about a month now and it has froze and restarted constantly, (5 times during one movie) I am not impressed by this and thinking of returning it. It also unfortunately does not play avi files or any file with AC3 audio codec. These are very common forms of media and its upsetting to not see them supported.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had my Roku for a couple of weeks and it was simple enough for a child (or a very old person) to hook up and the video quality is as good as cable gets.
I can't imagine a remote more simple and intuitive to use. I'm very happy with deviceand the choice of services available.

I love the roku 3 great device Don't get the 2 the three is much better.
