For the most part I am happy with my Roku 3. The reason I bought this product was my cable bill was outrageous and just couldn't afford it anymore. I enjoy the apps that I have downloaded, but a little disappointed that I can't get certain apps because I do not have a service provider. I guess I misunderstood what all Roku would do. That's the only downside I have with this. But in all pretty satisfied with the product.

Not a great replacement for cable

We bought the unit and put it to work. It was not a great replacement for tv. Many older movies that we liked were not available on the channels. A lot of the content that we were looking at ended up not being full programs, but clips.

I've used this for 45 days now and while Roku has some great features it is not able to offer an alternative to cable/satellite yet. The menu is easier to use than scrolling Netflix online (and you don't have to connect your computer to your TV) but I believe these are the best features at this time. If Roku were to offer service packages like the cable/satellite providers for a lower price I would rate Roku as a 5 star option to cable/satellite service.

It's a nice gadget but i was expecting it to have more content, there's a lot of channels and private channels but many of them need a subscription. I'll end up paying more than my cable service if i pay for all i want. But if you are looking for something specific like Netflix, Hulu... it's very good... just check if your TV doesnt already have it with Smart TV

Nice, but poor battery life with headphones!

I am really enjoying my Roku 3 device EXCEPT for the one feature that I was really looking forward to. The headphone jack. If you plan to use this you will only get about a two hour battery life. REALLY??? Most movies today are longer than that. Very, VERY poor design flaw for an otherwise excellent product.

I got the Roku for Christmas. I was prepared to spend 30 minutes reading the setup instructions before attempting to hook up the machine, but I was done and the Roku was working great in less than 15. I found lots of free programs - old series and BBC shows I'd never seen, and I spent the next month watching my TV from the Roku exclusively!

Flawless and Exceeds my expectations

This device installed by itself automatically. It works flawlessly. It has opened up a world of extremely interesting and entertaining viewing that is either free or very low monthly cost. I have cut back my package on satellite TV already and I'd bet that the more I become familiar with the available content via my ROKU, the more likely it is that I will be cancelling my satellite TV altogether. The savings from that for just one year would pay for the ROKU and all the programming I get through ROKU with money left over. After that first year, with the ROKU paid off, the difference in cost of annual programming is about $100 per month, or $1200 annually!
