Tons of channels!

We were looking to kick our cable service to the curb because they nickel and dime you to death and we still have nothing to watch. Planning on buying another one for the bedroom.

Bought this a month ago and have had to return it once already as it kept shutting it self off. I have not installed the replacement yet. Not sure if I will keep or not.

Easy to Use

Easy set up and it is nice to have everything working off of one interface (Netflix and HULU) I am disappointed though that the "channels" still require a provider subscription. I thought that I would be able to do away with cable and satellite providers to ease my budget.

Good except

I turned in my cable box in bed room for the Roku 3. I use Time Warner channels mostly. My only complaint is that I cannot receive my router wifi in my bedroom. The Roku only shows up. I googled problem but didn't find an answer. I can't seem to log into the Roku wifi either.
My 2nd cable box costs $5 per month. At $89 ithe Roku takes nearly a year and a half to recoup the cost.
Good thing I have my iphone for set up. Since Roku is in my bedroom, you have to log in computer to authorize. My computer is in living room. I would have been running back & forth to set up, if not for my phone.
I watch a lot of the History channel. I get that on my Roku but the History Channel will not unlock for Time Warner . While this is not Roku's problem, I wanted anyone else who loves The History channel to be aware.
I also have an Apple TV. I prefer the Roku 3 over the Apple TV. More options available.

Previously I used a Boxee Box. It pales by comparison with Roku. The interface is very easy to use and the image quality & speed are superb.
