Works Fine But Not What It's Cracked Up To Be

First, despite very recent software updates/corrections, the Roku player is extremely difficult to navigate. And it won't do what it used to and other devices will - it won't even play Hulu. But then Roku will sell another device for $99 that will allow you to access Hulu. Hmmmm. The phone app to turn your Androaid phone into a remote is very cool. But this device will NOT allow you to save $$$ -- only to spend more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A lot of different viewing options

You can watch TV or movies. It's like having all the channels of cable and satellite in one little box and most of it is free.

The wife demanded more Rokus in the house !!

After setting up the Roku 3 on the main family room TV my wife started surfing the sites and found streaming Breaking Bad in Netflix. I did not see her for 8 hours. I had to buy two more Roku 3's for the other TVs -- and one for a vacation condo. It's great and we are 'hooked'.

Easy to Operate

We got our Roku for Christmas this year! We really like it because, it's user friendly -simple to to teach someone to use, works like a Wii and we can access our favorites. One this I would like is a mechanism for attaching it to the back of our tv or tv stand. We can rig something, but having a built in mechanism would be great. Then our cats wouldn't play with it and we could access the button more easily. We would also like it if it would turn on and off through our cable remote, but I know that's a stretch.

Hardly watch TWC anymore

After seeing my cable bill of $155 I knew something had to be done. I picked up the newest Roku,3, and ever since we set it up we hardly watch cable anymore. Everyone enjoys all of the television seasons available. The new movies are lacking, but all of the providers are like that. It does stay on even if you aren't watching but that doesn't seem to be a problem so far. Works great with 15mb cable modem. The wireless non IR remote is awesome. We were able to cut the cable bill by $50 so it pays for itself after 2 months.

We experience one to two minutes of pauses as the video downloads. This happens through the whole program. Very annoying. Is this normal?

LOVE ROKU

My husband bought my Roku for me for Christmas and it's one of the best gifts he's ever bought me. I almost never watch live tv anymore. I can watch Netflix, HuluPlus, Youtube, etc. on my big screen including videos of our kids and grandkids. No more watch movies on my iPad. I want one for every tv in my house. Love it!!!

Great product!

I wanted to cut the cable cord for quite some time now. I looked in to a few products and the Roku seemed like the best option. I switched off DirecTv in July 2013 and have not switched back. I got the Roku 3 at full price of 99.99. I would guess that the only feature difference I care about between the 2 and the 3 is the faster processor. Which to me is worth at least a $20 price difference. My only complaint which has nothing to do with Roku is no ala carte subscription services to channels like HBO or FX. In the end with what I'm saving a month I think I can wait for shows to be available either on Netflix or Amazon.
