Easy to use and setup

I bought this about a month ago. It was very easy to setup, link to WiFi and add channels from a library of many choices. My disappointment with some of the channels where even if you pay a monthly subscription fee, you have to sit through commercials. However, even with a few bad examples like this, there are many that are great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We watch it more than cable.

I bought the Roku 3 mainly to watch NBA League Pass and, a pay per season option our cable service does not have. It worked great and after I got to explore all the free channels I really began to appreciate its value. I added some channels from the list of channels avaliable and we also get Netflix so I added that. It Pretty much made our TV something we all can enjoy at the same time. We love it.

Home entertainment changer!

Our flat screen is about five years old, and did not have the built-in hardware. So, if I was going to give a Roku devise for Christmas, wanted to purchase the fastest one. And, WOW!- not only doing internet streaming, but high quality. Now the services that were being watched and played on our computers and notebooks, are now being enjoyed on the big screen.
Roku is coming out with built-ins in TVs this next fall, but this one, is even ahead of that!

I have owned my Roku 3 for two months and I continue to use it more and more. Initial hookup was easy. It is a "best buy" and, a "best friend."

I get the channels that I only want.

We moved off of satellite because we only watched two channels and paid for 250. Now we watch the two channels through the Roku and don't have to pay the monthly fee for satellite any more.
My only dislike is there is no way to turn the Roku off without unplugging it. I thought it was off one time and noticed the light was on, it had been streaming all night. Not good on the ISP bandwidth meter.

They simplified themselves out of usuability

So the menu is about the same as their predecessor, not bad. The speed, able to handle my 20G downstream feed, not bad. The outputs... completely ruin the product. They've attempted to save so much in manufacturing cost that they've made any flexibility in media viewing options null. Still no attempt to simplify local channel availability have been made and the inputs are all on different sides so that if you have a nice A/V setup like myself, there's this ugly box that matches nothing feeding mediocre content. Returning the item.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small, but very powerful!

I bought the Roku 3 about a month ago and I love it! It was much smaller than I expected and is very sleek, looks very nice next to my HDTV. Speed of the UI is very impressive, and the overall channel selection is the best I've seen. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was that when setting up Netflix, Hulu and some other subscription channels, you are required to use your computer to finish the set up. Although I have computers, I felt it was a little inconvenient. But overall, this is a GREAT product, with awesome features and fast system.
