Roku helped me break the tether!

Roku is a wonderful little device and has helped me break the tether with my local cable company! I was already an Amazon Prime member and I signed up with Netflix after getting my Roku. Those choices along with my digital antenna are saving me over 100 dollars a month and I get better choices, a much better picture and the cable company no longer gets to reach into my pocket! I also got High Speed DSL internet that runs at 3.0 Mbps. This streams movies just as fast as the old cable internet, so don't let them lie to you. It works great!

My wife and I got this for ourselves for Christmas and couldn't be happier. Extremely fast streaming with our 15Mb speed, only time we have encountered issues is when streaming over two devices and using Wi
Fi on a tablet too. Very intuitive, easy to set up and use. Loaded with tons of fun features, games, apps and add-ons we are still discovering. There are lots of channels that stream podcast's of there shows with new and different content.

Only wish for this devise (and it is not Roku but TWC and similar companies who haven't caught on yet) is the ability to purchase "a la carte" channels that stream current content. without having to be a cable or satellite customer. Hopefully as more and more customers switch to devices like the Roku 3 (It's awesome) more will become available. We loves this box, amazing value. Very user friendly. Doesn't come with HDMI cable, make sure you get one before you get home.

I am extremely thrilled at the quality of this product. I have an apple TV2 as well as a smart tv and using the Roku is by far the best way for me to stream any media content. From Netflix, to media of my network, the Roku hands down is a far superior product. It has no issues playing any format I throw at it, mkv, mov, etc. As well the headphone option is fantastic when I want to catch up on a movie and not disturb my wife in bed.
