Makes me re-consider my cable subscription!

I got this for Christmas, it is great! All of the different apps that work with it allow me to watch tons of shows and movies. I love it and may cancel cable.
You will want to make sure you have subscriptions to apps that work with it to get value from it though. I currently use Netflix, Amazon Prime, Flixter and HBOgo.

I spent some time deciding which console to purchase, and after a lot of thinking, reviewing and researching, I finally chose the Roku 3. I'm SO happy with my decision. It's compact, doesn't take up any space, really easy to use and absolutely user-friendly...and, a total bang for your buck (and I am an "aspiring writer," so my buck definitely needs a good bang in order to be spent!)
Complaint: the search engine isn't as efficient as it could be. As with many other such consoles, you have to scroll letter-by-letter when you are searching for a title with the provided remote. It gets tedious. And, the font on the Roku 3 is really tiny (though, that could also be due in part to I don't have a huge flat-screen.)
Fix: I haven't set up my iphone as my remote yet, but I'm sure that will increase the ease of typing, since I can use my phone's keyboard (I assume).
I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

This box has revamped the bedroom TV

I just simply love this thing. After installing the Plex app and setting up the server side of things, we were able to stream shows perfectly to the Roku. That was the main intended purpose, and it succeeded in that.
Going forward with other features, I finally get to use the Amazon video portion of the Prime account I already had. As a lovely bonus, my cable TV provider even has an app available that allows us to channel surf on the Roku.
This is perfection! I am looking forward to the Roku 4.

I love my Roku! Now instead of having to hook my laptop up to my TV all the time, I can just turn on my TV and watch HuluPlus and Netflix with ease. It's so easy to install and use and if I ever can't find my Roku remote, I can just use the downloadable Roku app on my iPhone. I wish I had one for every TV in my place.

Easier than DVD player for Netflix

A gift, I did not think I wanted or could benefit from ROKU but I was wrong. The picture is clearer, seldom goes down and responds very well to it's remote. This is compared to using my Samsung DVD player to connect to Netflix. ROKU is a ton clearer, responds immediately and stays working much better than my three DVD connections.

I bought a Roku at Christmas to replace a game system that I used to watch Netflix! I really like the Roku because of the ease of operation and it allows me to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime with the option of Red Box also!
