I love my ROKU, but the batteries die very quickly in the remote. I have gone through approximately 24 batteries in less than a month.

Excellent With a Few Flaws

I "cut the cord" a couple of months ago, and my Roku player was central to that. It works very well and makes watching content at my pace and to my taste easy and fun. However, I wish the remote had a keyboard (see the latest TiVO remote with a slide-out one) in order to make searching and entering passwords easier.

My son gave this to me for Christmas after I put it on my list. Main reason was to watch Netflix & catch up on some shows I had missed. It was easy to set up & learn how to work.

Cheesy remote, headphones

Sometimes the remote control just stops working. Also the sound through the headphones is sometimes full of static or clipped

Easy to Install and Operate

I hesitated buying the Roku because there are so many choices for media streaming and I anticipated a steep learning curve in selecting a device and getting it to operate with my older TV setup. My reluctance was quite unnecessary - the Roku was incredibly easy to set up and even easier to use. The software is about as user-friendly as you could want. Beyond the ease of installation and use, the content available is extensive and access fees are generally reasonable. The Roku is cutting into the amount of cable TV we now watch. I sure wish we'd gotten this great item years ago.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Roku. I'd been contemplating purchasing some kind of streaming device for awhile, and after reading reviews and comparisons, settled on a Roku 3. I know others who have the earlier models and were quite happy with them still, but I decided to spend a few extra dollars for the latest one. I don't have a lot of time to watch television, since I work six days a week...so this is perfect because I can watch what I want, when I want...instead of just settling for whatever is on. I'm all about variety and choice...this gives me both.

I'll never stream on my Wii again

I got this for Christmas. I wasn't sure I really needed it considering I have a Wii. However, it is so much faster and the streaming is seamless. Plus, I can finally watch all of my History Channel favorites again, something I thought was over after getting rid of cable.
I love the fact that you can listen to headphones via the remote, but after only a few times, it stopped working. I wasn't rough with it, so I don't know why, but overall, I love my Roku!
